Valerie: 45 years old

Valerie awoke on 27th September with a pain in her shoulder and arm. She had this before and was diagnosed with 'Frozen Shoulder'. She had been given Ibruferon Cream to rub into the shoulder and arm, as well as panadols to take. It took a few months to go before she could function normally. We started her on the cosmolight three times a week.

When Valerie came for treatment today she said she was not sleeping becase she had to try and sleep sitting up in bed. She was rubbing Ibruprofen cream and taking paracetomol. When she moves, the pain goes down her arm to the fingertips and feels numb. Also the pain is in her shoulder muscle.

When Valerie came for treatment today she said she was sleeping better but still having to sleep sitting up. The pain is shifting down her arm. The continuous throbing pain has gone unless she twists awkwardly. She is now able to stop taking the pain killers and is now only rubbing the cream into har arm and shoulder. We increased the acupuncture points we are doing. She cannot move her arm out to the side of her body and only up and down slightly. She says her arm feels paralysed but she can fold her arm across har body with no difficulty.

When Valerie cam today for treatment on the cosmolight, she said the arm is more mobile and the dull ache is not only at the side and underneath of the upper arm. The inside and top of her arm has no ach now. She is sleeping lying down now, but cannot lie on her shoulder. The neck and head pain have now gone. She can reach across the front of her body and manage to hold the shoulder of the opposite arm. She can also take har arm behind her back. When raising the arm forward she can raise to shoulder level, however when raising the arm to the side she can only go to hip level.

When Valerie came for her treatment on the Cosmolight today she said she is now sleeping lying down, but it helps to rest the arm on a pillow beside her in bed. She can lift the arm above shoulder level both forwards and to the side. Valerie feels that she is now functioning like a normal person and is able to cope with the slight ache she is experiencing. She feels that her progess will only go forward and so we will discontinue treament.
